City of Philadelphia, Fleet Management Department |
|---|
Challenge: The Fleet Management Department had access to large amounts of data regarding the usage and availability of the many vehicles it manages for the City of Philadelphia. At the time, users created adhoc reports using Excel and Access which took many man hours, and had limited capability. Solution: Using the existing data provided in Excel spreadsheets, Xulin Technology developed the Fleet Data Reporting application. This application allows the Fleet Management Department to import data from the Excel spreadsheets into a local database and to generate many canned reports. The application also allows for the creation of adhoc reports by letting the user select multiple data points for analysis and comparison. This application provides a Return On Investment by a decrease in man hours for the analysis of fleet usage and by allowing the department to make better informed decisions in regards to the management of of its vehicles. Technology: The application uses the latest in Microsoft technologies:

Philadelphia Gas Works |
|---|
Challenge: Xulin Technology has developed many applications for the Philadelphia Gas Works. One in particular proved to be very useful. One day we were asked to quickly develop an online employment application that would allow the HR department to post job descriptions, and give users the ability to search and apply for jobs online. HR would also need the ability to view applications and uploaded resumes for applicants selected for further review. Solution: Xulin Technology worked with the clients' existing infrastructure to develop an internal administration version of the website, an external version for job application process and web services to tie the functionality together. There is also a document management component that gives the HR department the ability to bundle and print applications and their associated resumes. Business requirements were developed as a collaborative effort between Xulin Technology resources and PGW's HR and legal departments. The application has gone through several upgrades, including a wizard based application process, improved printing capabilities and .NET and database software upgrades. Technology: The application uses the latest in Microsoft technologies:

Aramark Healthcare |
|---|
Challenge: Aramark Healthcare's IT department needed a way to keep track of projects and relay the status to the project stakeholders. The solution had to be web based, have multiple roles, needed to be intuitive for non-technical users and had to be low cost. Solution: After some initial investigation, Xulin Technology was able to find an Open Source application which covered 70% of the functionality. By adding the additional functionality (and sharing the changes with the project developers as per licensing requirements) and creating the installation scripts for the database, Xulin Technology was able to give Aramark Healthcare and application which surpassed the original requirements while keeping the costs low. MyFantasyRacingTeam.com |
|---|
Challenge: The creators of MyFantasyRacingTeam.com had an idea for a fantasy sports website that took advantage of the growing popularity of NASCAR. They had a graphics designer who created a static version of the site, but lacked the programming expertise to implement the functionality required: free registration to view select information regarding competitors and races, the ability to have customers buy into races and select drivers for their teams, online payment processing, scoring, stats and administration capabilities. Solution: Xulin Technology was able to meet all the requirements by collaborating with the client remotely to work out the business functionality of the site. We also communicated with the client on a regular basis to discuss project status and obtain feedback on test releases. Xulin Technology also configured the hosted server, installed the software and configured the database. Technology: The application was built using Open Source technologies:
